About tear cards

Materials

Matte 14pt is a smooth card with no shine that takes a pen, so a reply slip or an appointment line can be filled in by hand. Gloss UV 14pt is a card under a high-gloss UV coat, the brightest of the three, for a coupon that has to catch the eye; its coat is hard to write on. Uncoated recycled 13pt has no coating, writes like paper and is made from 100% recycled paper. Every card is printed on one side or on both.

Sizes

3.5 x 8.5 in is the rack-size card, 3.5 x 11 in a taller one with more room for your message, and 4.25 x 11 in the widest. On each the perforation runs across the card 2 inches above the bottom, so the tear-off is 2 inches deep and as wide as the card: on the 3.5-inch cards, the size of a business card. Every paper is made in all three.

Your file

Design it in the editor and the print file is made for you, at the card's full size with the extra edge the cut needs: a sixteenth of an inch. Keep words an eighth of an inch inside the edge and off the perforation: the editor draws the perforation as a dashed line, the card above it and the tear-off below, and the print check tells you if any words sit on it. The perforation is cut, not printed, so there is nothing to draw for it. To use your own artwork, upload an image (PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF or SVG, up to 12 MB) and place it; a PDF is not taken. Before you pay, the print check also tells you if a picture is too small to print sharply, or if any words are smaller than the press can hold.

How long it takes

Printing takes 3 to 5 business days on every paper. Delivery comes after that; the Shipping page has the times.

Questions

What is the smallest order?
50 cards on the gloss UV and recycled cards, and 100 on the matte card. Runs are 50, 100, 250, 500 or 1,000.
Where does it tear?
Across the card, 2 inches above the bottom edge, on every size. The editor marks the line and keeps your words an eighth of an inch from it.
Can people write on the tear-off?
On the matte and the recycled cards, yes: both take a pen. The gloss UV card's coat is hard to write on, so choose one of the others for a slip people fill in.
Can I print on both sides?
Yes. Every card is made printed on one side or on both, so the tear-off can carry its terms or lines to fill in on the back. The page shows what the second side adds before you choose it.
How long does printing take?
3 to 5 business days on every paper. Delivery comes after that; the Shipping page has the times.
Can I see it before it prints?
Yes. Before it goes in the cart you see the front and the back as they will print and confirm them, and the editor exports a PDF of your design.
