About large-format posters

Materials

8pt C2S card, a semi-gloss poster stock with a soft sheen, printed in full colour on one side and cut to size.

Sizes

28 sizes. 16 x 20, 20 x 24 and 22 x 28 in are the frame sizes; 24 x 36 in is the classic poster for a wall or a window; 12 in wide strips from 24 to 96 in tall suit a doorway or a column; and the 36 and 48 in wide prints, up to 4 by 8 feet, make a backdrop for a stage or a stand. Each size opens in the editor on templates drawn for it.

Your file

Design it in the editor and the print file is made for you, at the poster's full size with the extra edge the cut needs: a sixteenth of an inch. Keep words a quarter of an inch inside the edge. Each size is made at the finest resolution its file holds: 150 pixels an inch up to 48 inches, and less on the larger sizes, down to about 83 on the 4 by 8 foot print, which is read from across a room. To use your own artwork, upload an image (PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF or SVG, up to 12 MB) and place it; a PDF is not taken. Before you pay, the print check tells you if a picture is too small to print sharply at that size, or if any words are too small to read.

How long it takes

Printing takes 4 to 5 business days. Delivery comes after that; the Shipping page has the times.

Questions

How big can it be?
Up to 48 inches wide by 96 tall, 4 by 8 feet, and as small as 12 x 24 or 16 x 20 inches: 28 sizes in all.
What is it printed on?
8pt semi-gloss poster card, printed in full colour on the front and cut to size.
Will my picture be sharp that big?
The print check tells you before you pay if a picture is too small for the size you chose. A big poster is read from further off, so it needs fewer pixels an inch than a small one.
Can I order just one?
Yes. Large-format posters are sold from one, and in runs of 2, 3, 5 and 10.
How long does printing take?
